Good morning, friend.

Can I be honest with you this morning? This week wasn’t perfect.

I’ve been trying to get back to the lifestyle that I know helps me feel my best. Over the past several months I’ve learned that my body simply doesn’t respond well to sugar, processed foods, and many of the ingredients that have become so common in our diets. When I stay focused, I feel better. My inflammation improves, my energy increases, and everything seems to work a little better. But this week, I had a rough day.

It started with one sugar cookie. Then another. You know how that goes.

For just a moment, I found myself feeling disappointed. I wondered why something so small could throw me off track so easily. Then I realized something that I think many of us need to hear.

One bad choice doesn’t have to become a bad week.

How many times do we convince ourselves that because we stumbled once, we’ve already failed? Whether it’s eating healthier, spending time in God’s Word, exercising, managing our finances, or pursuing a goal, we often think perfection is the standard. It isn’t. Faithfulness is.

One of the greatest lessons God continues teaching me is that His mercies truly are new every morning. Every day is another opportunity to begin again. Yesterday doesn’t have to determine today, and today doesn’t have to determine tomorrow.

I’ve decided that I’m not going on another diet.

I’m simply returning to the lifestyle I know is best for me. My goal isn’t perfection. My goal is consistency. I want to choose foods that nourish my body, spend less time chasing temporary cravings, and remember that taking care of the body God has given me is an act of stewardship.

That doesn’t mean I’ll never have another cookie.

It does mean I don’t have to let one cookie become an excuse to quit trying.

I think this applies to so much more than food.

How often have we allowed guilt to keep us from moving forward? We make a mistake, miss the mark, or have a difficult day, and suddenly we begin believing we’ve ruined everything. But that’s not how God works. He invites us to get back up.

  • To keep walking.

  • To keep trusting Him.

  • To keep growing.

Progress may feel slower than we’d like, but it’s still progress. As I continue reading through Matthew chapters five and six, I’m reminded that Jesus isn’t calling us to perform perfectly. He’s calling us to follow Him faithfully, one day at a time. That’s enough for me. This morning I’m choosing grace over guilt and progress over perfection. Maybe someone reading this needs that reminder too.

Wherever you find yourself today, don’t let yesterday convince you to give up. Take the next right step. Then take another. Before long you’ll look back and realize that those small, faithful choices added up to something beautiful.

I’d love to hear from you today.

What’s one area of your life where you’re choosing progress instead of perfection?

Until tomorrow…

Keep your coffee warm, your Bible close, and your eyes open for the blessings God places in your path today.

I’ll meet you back here tomorrow—with another cup of coffee and another conversation.

❤️ Mandy
