Another Day, Another Meeting
☕ Wednesday, September 30, 2026
Good morning, friends.
I’m on my way to work this morning, and I’m trying again today to stay positive. Every day I tell myself I’m going to be positive. I’m going to do better. I’m going to focus on the good. And then, almost every day, something happens that makes that really hard.
And honestly, I don’t have an excuse. I pray about it. I know where I need to take it. I know that I can’t control everything that happens around me. But this job is hard.
And it’s not really the job that’s hard. It’s the people. It’s the coworkers you work with every day. It’s the clients. It’s the conversations. It’s the stress that comes from dealing with people and trying to navigate all of the personalities, expectations, frustrations, and circumstances that come along with it. Sometimes that part is much harder than the actual work.
Today we have a meeting with my supervisor, and if I’m being completely honest, I don’t feel good about it. Most of the time these meetings don’t go particularly well, and sometimes they feel pointless. We’re asked what we want to do. We’re asked how we think things should work. We’re asked for our input, and then our input doesn’t seem to matter. And when it finally does get listened to, sometimes it feels like it’s too late.
Changes get made, chaos follows, and we’re left trying to figure out how to make everything work. There are definitely moments when it feels like things are being set up for us to struggle, although I don’t actually know that that’s the case. That’s just how it feels sometimes when you’re standing in the middle of the chaos.
So, I have a meeting at 8:30 this morning, and before that I have to cover the front desk at 8. It’s going to be one of those days.
But you know what?
There are some really good things happening too.
I’m almost to 15 pounds of weight loss in three weeks, and I’m pretty excited about that! The GLP-1 has really helped quiet the food noise and those constant thoughts about food. I’m also seeing a nutritionist and a therapist because I’m realizing more and more that my relationship with food has some deep roots.
I have food issues. I’m not going to pretend I don’t.
There are wounds behind some of those struggles, and those wounds aren’t necessarily easy to get past. I don’t love the fact that I’ve needed medication to help me with some of this, but I’m also learning that I don’t have to be ashamed of something that is helping me. I’m feeling better, I’m making progress, and I’m working on the deeper issues at the same time.
That’s a positive.
My neck is feeling better too, and the shots seem to be working, which is another thing I’m thankful for.
So when I look at everything that’s happening right now, there are certainly things that frustrate me. There are things that stress me out. There are things I wish I could change.
But there are also a lot of positives.
And maybe that’s what I need to focus on today.
I’ve also been pouring myself into creating things over the last couple of days. I’ve been making images and files for DTF printing, and I think I’m finally getting the process figured out well enough that I can start uploading some of these designs to Etsy as digital downloads.
I’ve still got some things to learn, but I think I finally have a pretty good idea of how I need to create the files so they’re ready for people to print. That’s exciting to me because it gives me another way to move Three Hearts Keepsakes forward, especially with the holidays coming.
I want to build this business.
I want to create things people love.
I want to get ready for the holiday season.
But as much as I want to move my business forward, I want to move my patience and my faith forward even more.
Because what good is building a business if I’m allowing the stress of my job to steal my peace every day?
What good is creating beautiful things if my heart is constantly focused on everything that’s going wrong?
I don’t want the negative things to outweigh the good things God is doing in my life.
So today, I’m going to walk into that meeting and do my best. I’m going to listen. I’m going to speak honestly when I need to. I’m going to try not to assume the worst before anything even happens, because sometimes I do that too.
And then I’m going to let it go.
I’m going to let God take control of the things I can’t control.
I know there are a lot of places where I want my heart and my mind to be, and patience and faith are definitely two of them.
So here we are.
Another day.
Another meeting.
Another opportunity to practice what I’m learning.
Let the stress go and let God take control.
I’m going to hold onto the good things today—the progress I’m making, my health feeling better, my creative work, my business, my family, and most importantly, my relationship with God.
Because even on a frustrating day, there is still good.
I just have to choose to see it.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday, friends. Whatever you’re facing today, I hope you can find a little bit of good in the middle of it and remember that you don’t have to carry everything yourself.
Until tomorrow.
♥️Mandy
