Good morning, friend.

Pour another cup of coffee and join me for a few minutes.

Tomorrow is a day that means more to our family than words can fully describe, and I’ve found myself thinking about the journey that led us there.

Yesterday I shared that Matt and I spent six years praying to become parents. Six years is a long time to hope. A long time to wonder. A long time to ask questions that don’t always have immediate answers.

There were moments when I wondered if motherhood just wasn’t part of God’s plan for me. Looking back now, I realize I was asking the wrong question. It wasn’t that God was saying “no.” He was simply writing a different story.

When people hear the word adoption, they often think about paperwork, travel, and court dates.

♥️ I think about love.

♥️ I think about a God who specializes in bringing families together in ways we never could have imagined.

For years, I believed my child would be born from me. Instead, God blessed me with a son who was born in my heart long before I ever held him in my arms. That sentence has become one of the most meaningful truths of my life.

♥️Clayton didn’t grow beneath my heart. He grew within it.♥️

Tomorrow I’ll tell you about the day we finally met, but today I simply want to say this to anyone who finds themselves waiting…

God is never late. He may not work according to our calendar, but He is always working according to His perfect plan.

One of my favorite verses reminds me of that.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)

Looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Because the waiting led us to Clayton. And Clayton was always worth the wait. I’d love to hear from you today.

Has there ever been a blessing in your life that arrived differently than you expected?

❤️ Mandy
